Aim - This study intends to compare the combination of Pelvic Floor Muscle Strengthening Exercise (PFMSE) with OTAGO exercise and Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) exercises separately for managing UI and fall risk among women. Background of the study - Urinary incontinence (UI) is the unintentional passing of the urine and is defined by the International Incontinence Society as an “Involuntary loss of urine which is objectively a demonstrable, Social and Hygienic Problem”. It is a disorder of the reservoir function of the lower urinary tract, comprising the bladder, urethra, and sphincter muscles (1). Urinary incontinence is not just a medical problem but affects the emotional, psychological and social life of the individuals. This problem is observed both in men and women, but tends to be more common among the latter. The prevalence of falls in Indian older adults ranges from 14% to 53%. The risk factor for falls include: older age, gait deficit, malnutrition, visual impairment, muscle weakness, impaired balance and the risk of fall increases as the age. Procedure – After obtaining the approval from the institutional review board, this experimental study was conducted at the outpatient physiotherapy department. 30 females who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected and they were grouped into Group A and GroupB. The outcome measures used were Berg Balance scale, The Urogenital Distress Inventory (UDI)-6 and Incontinence Impact Questionnaire (IIQ)-7. GroupA received Otago exercises and Group B received SAIL exercises. Both groups received pelvic floor muscle exercises. Result – on comparing the data’s obtained it was evident that GroupA showed significant improvement than GroupB, which states that Otago exercises along with pelvic floor muscle strengthening exercises are effective in reducing urinary incontinence and fall risk.Keywords

Objective: The study aims to analyse and compare the efficacy of neck stabilization exercise and postural correction exercise over conventional exercises on pain, disability, posture, Respiratory dysfunction in desk job workers with neck pain. Background of The Study: Neck pain is a common disorder mainly caused by awkward posture, tightness in both the neck and upper back muscles and prolonged sitting while using computers, twisting and bending of the trunk. Rounded shoulder is a condition characterized by protracted shoulder girdle from its normal. Imbalance between agonist and antagonist results in muscle imbalance affecting the cervical curvature resulting in pain. Materials and Methods: Once the study is approved by Institutional Review Board Ref no: IV C – 018 / PHYSIO / IRB /2017-2018 50 samples were selected from 60 volunteers based on the inclusion criteria. The study was conducted is the outpatient department of physiotherapy & took nearly 3months (Jan 2018 – May 2018) to complete the study.. Group A received Neck Stabilization exercise and postural correction exercise with deep breathing exercise. Group B received stretch and strengthening exercise with deep breathing exercise. Pre and post-test measured with NDI-Neck disability index, CSBQ-Cervical Spine Bournemouth Questionnaire, SEBQ-Self-Evaluation Breathing Questionnaire, DST-Double square test. Result: On comparing Pre-test and Post-test within Group A and Group B on Double Square Test(Right and Left), Neck Disability Index, Cervical Spine Bournemouth Questionnaire, Self-Evaluation of Breathing Questionnaire shows significant decrease in the post test Mean values but Group A which has the Lower Mean value is more effective than Group B at P ≤ 0.001.Keywords

Aim: To analyze the neuromotor control and the neck muscle endurance among the student population.
Background Of The Study: Recent studies shows that poor posture habits causes the neck muscles to continuously overwork to counterbalance the pull of gravity causing imbalance between the agonist and antagonist.
Materials And Method: The study design is observational study. Female subjects within the age group of 18-25 years were included and Subjects with migraine, tension type headache and neck pain were excluded from the study. After getting consent from the 100 samples, CCFT and julls test were performed.
Conclusion: The study revealed that there is reduced neck muscle endurance and motor control among the subjects.

Background: Selfitis is an genuine mental condition where people have an obsessive-compulsive desire to take photos of one self and post them on social media as a way to make up for the lack of self- esteem. While clicking a selfie, there is always a possibility that by incorrect stretching of the tendons, an injury can occur to joints like the elbow. Selfie elbow is more of an abnormal and repetitive loading of muscles around elbow, leading to micro ruptures, which cause inflammation and pain. Hence, this study intended to analyze the effects of eccentric exercises on selfie elbow.
Aim: To analyze the effectiveness of eccentric exercises on selfie elbow.
Method: This is an experimental study done in Faculty of physiotherapy, Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute. After approval of the study by Institutional Review Board, both male and female with severe selfitis (using selfie behaviour questionnaire) between 18-21 years having pain on lateral epicondyle & lateral forearm with positive cozens were included in the study. The subjects with any musculoskeletal injuries, neurological disorders and having pain due to other reasons were excluded. Eccentric exercises protocol was given for four weeks along with patient education program. All the exercises was performed 5times/weeks, 3 sets, 1 set = 15 rep, 1 min rest between each Set.
Results: A Positive Association was found between the selfie behaviour scale & oxford elbow pain questionnaire in subjects with selfitis and on comparing the oxford elbow pain questionnaire score significant improvement in the post test mean value was seen which suggest that eccentric exercise program is effective in selfie elbow.
Conclusion: The result of this study suggests that proper patient education and eccentric exercise program among selfie takers with sefie elbow will reduce the pain over the lateral epicondyle.
